Robert Collins is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Director of Information Security for the Indian Health Service (IHS). Mr. Collins has over ten years of experience developing, implementing and reengineering cybersecurity programs for international and domestic organizations. In his previous role, he served as the Compliance Branch Chief for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where Mr. Collins was a pioneer in the adoption and governance of cloud computing initiatives and Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) technologies for the entire Federal Government.
Mr. Collins won the 2016 Government Information Security Leadership Award (GISLA) for Workforce Improvement and was an Excellence.Gov Finalist in 2013. Through his leadership, his team has been awarded multiple Federal Information Systems Security Educators' Association (FISSEA) Awards for best newsletter in 2014 and 2015 and a peer choice award for best security training in 2015.
Mr. Collins earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Information Security from James Madison University. He describes himself as a business professional who speaks nerd.
